Research & Policy
PSRP fosters the application of university-based knowledge
and research findings about the environment to real world problem-solving
and provides environmental policy-relevant information to decision-makers.
We conduct and promote place-based studies, and we also study the
process of university engagement in the application of university-based
knowledge to the real world. Findings from such research can infuse
the development of strategies that make a difference, expanding university
public scholarship.

Science & Policy
Initiatives which search for solutions to critical California
environmental problems help decision-makers create policies
that are science-based. We support an interdisciplinary and
collaborative approach to environmental issues, particularly
focusing in California.

Place-Based
Studies
Place-based studies help us understand the relationship of
people to their landscapes, the ecological relationships within
these landscapes, and the potential affects of different strategies.
Our research focuses primarily in the Putah-Cache
Bioregion.

Research
Research conducted by members of PSRP focuses on processes
leading to changes within the university related to environmental
engagement and changes within communities related to place-based
education and the solving of environmental problems. We also
conduct evaluations of our interventions and projects.
